Despite two points from Stevie Ray Adams, the Gloucester Rangers lost to the Kanata Stallions, 5-2.
In a losing effort, Gloucester was sparked by Adams, who finished with two goals. Adams scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 12:50 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Kanata. The Rangers earned a power play opportunity when Alex Robinson was put in the box for kneeing. Dean Derouchie assisted on the tally. Adams' next tally on the power play made the score 4-2 Kanata with 13:43 left in the third period. Gloucester had taken the advantage when Kanata's Reid Murphy got sent off for too many men. Daniel Baslyk picked up the assist.
The Stallions forced the Rangers goalie Dylan BrindAmour to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots.
Kanata additionally got points from Curtis Watson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Fabian Walsh, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Kanata also got a goal from Derian Plouffe as well. More assists for Kanata came via Joe Breslin, who had two and JJ Hart, Nic LaBurn, Doug Harvey, and Braedan Moffatt, who contributed one a piece.
Gloucester was held back by its power play unit, which tallied two goals on nine chances.
Gunner Rivers made 26 saves for Kanata on 28 shots. The Stallions incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. For Kanata, Niles Owen was ejected from the game. The Rangers' BrindAmour stopped 41 shots out of the 46 that he faced. Gloucester incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
